She works under the scorching heat of the direct sun. She cooks food and cleans utensils at other people’s homes. She stitches clothes to be able to provide at least 2-time meals to her family. Even with back pain, knee pain, swollen joints, rashes and sunburns, she goes on toiling every day. She can’t even take a break for one day because that will mean her family might sleep hungry. For the mothers who belong to the lower strata of society, this is their everyday reality. They ignore their health. They ignore their plight. They ignore their happiness. Because they have to earn for their family. Let us all make this Mother’s day an event to celebrate and appreciate such strong mothers. Let's acknowledge the efforts of the mothers who do back-breaking jobs and go to great lengths for their children and family. They too deserve a world where they do not have to work so hard, just because they cannot read and write. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, we did our bit by conducting free health check-up campaigns for these mothers and their children. Let us all come together to make this world a better place for these mothers.
